Anna Cavanagh, a senior graduating this year with a BFA in Visual Arts specializing in Visual Communications, commenced her academic journey at Ocean County College in Fall 2019 before transitioning to Stockton University in Fall 2021. Her tenure at Stockton expanded her proficiency across a spectrum of Adobe programs, encompassing Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Animate, and more. Guided by her esteemed professors, Anna’s creative prowess flourished as she mastered diverse techniques, poised to propel her career as a designer.
Although Anna’s journey into the world of visual arts may have seemed predestined, her path was not without its twists and turns. Having harbored a childhood passion for art and creativity, Anna found herself at a crossroads, torn between her artistic inclinations and a fervent desire to pursue a career in veterinary science. It was a single drawing course at Ocean County College that served as the catalyst, prompting her to pivot towards graphic design, a decision she has never looked back on since. During the summer of 2023, Anna seized an opportunity as a Packaging Production intern at Spencer’s Gifts and Spirit Halloween, delving deeper into the nuances of the packaging industry. Her contributions extended to finalizing costume packages for the 2024 Halloween season, securing a temporary position with Spirit Halloween post-internship.
Anna’s exhibition showcases a fusion of her older and newer works, reflective of her artistic evolution over the years. Eager for the future, she aspires to refine her skills collaboratively with prospective employers, fortifying her portfolio further. Grateful for the unwavering support of her professors, family, and friends, Anna acknowledges their pivotal roles in her growth as both a designer and an artist.
