My name is Christina Peery-Atchley and the work I am displaying in this exhibition consists of logo designs, a book design, typesetting, illustrations, posters, and packaging designs.
The book design is my main piece, it is also the work I am most proud of. This poetry book consists of ten poems and were written by a friend, the illustrations were drawn by me to go along with each poem. In this book I worked with the typographic layout to interact with each of the images.
My exhibition includes two logo designs. The first logo is for a store called “Nostalgia Factory” located in Asbury Park New Jersey. This also includes creating the business cards for the owner of the company. He wanted a nostalgic 1990’s feel for his logo and cards which I presented with the color scheme and the geometric shapes.
The Second Logo is for an advocacy called “Operation Save 22” This is an advocacy that helps support military members and veterans who need mental health. The name came from the statistic that 22 veterans commit suicide every day. I am also presenting a poster created for this advocacy as well.
There is also a beer packaging design for a brewery called “Jersey Devil Brewery”. I created a label for a red ale and named it “Thirteenth Child”. It has an illustration of the Jersey devil and includes the story of the Jersey devil on the package.
Lastly, I am presenting a heavily illustration-based poster with minimal text promoting climate change. This poster shows a polar bear sitting in the hot sun with a penguin holding an umbrella over his head trying to protect him from the sun’s rays.
