My name is D’Maje Robinson, and I’m a visual communicator that focuses more on animation, logo design, and poetry. For the most part I’m a bit random, I like to sketch and make either abstract, or sophisticated and detailed designs on one hand, and on the other I like to animate, conceptualize and simplify the things I draw. After going through Stockton these last few years, I’ve decided that detail won’t always pull through in the long run if I focus on the detail more than the product that needs to be finished. As a result, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge in the Adobe CC programs (mostly Animate, Illustration, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and InDesign). Nowadays I’m leaning into logo designing and animation to balance detail and simplicity so I’ll know when to use either.
My poems are rather long, but I’ve started to place illustrations for each of them, and now I’ve gotten into the habit of always placing them with something hand-drawn. My goal after I graduate is to be an animator, while also developing a logo designing business in the future. Mostly, I’m aiming for a nice animation studio to get into, but I want to mostly start with Graphic design for now until I’m more confident with both the consistency of my art style and the quality of my art.
Thanks to my professors as well as the school, I’ve gotten better when it comes to naturally bringing out my different skills into my art style, whether it’s the sketches, the actual designs, or at the very least, the concept of what I’m trying to create. However, I’m still working on cleaning up the artwork when it’s finished. My specialties in terms of what I create graphically however, are line art, photo-editing, Illustration, animation, Package designing, and printmaking.
