Hi! I’m Evan Carr and I am a Visual Arts major with a concentration in Visual Communications.
Throughout my life I always considered myself a creative, but it wasn’t until college that I
discovered my true identity as an artist. What started as messing around editing videos and
creating cover art for friends, budded into a new major and a growing passion for design.

I am always searching for the line where art connects with the rest of my life, and for me that
has consistently been music. This connection between art and music has led me to
opportunities to create things like album covers, music videos, and concert posters. It has
allowed me to collaborate with talented artists and musicians, and act as the head of PR for the
biggest music club at Stockton. But most importantly it has allowed me to create on the overlap
of eyes and ears, through artistic visuals and melodic audio together. Music and art are some of
the most valuable things we have and I will always look for more ways to bring them together.

What’s most interesting about design is that at the heart of it, design is expressive problem
solving. You are given a problem and through design you can take a blank canvas and
transform it into something special. There is not one right answer in design, and through your
personal vision, that canvas, and that solution become your own. This is why I’m always
searching for the next new way to get better and find that new solution. Shapes, Textures and
Colors are how I express my mind and creativity. It’s design that ignites such emotion in me.

I’m so grateful for the art I HAVE made, and so excited for the art I WILL make.
