I drew comic strips to avoid reading books we were forced to read in the 5th grade. Unfortunately, I have backed away from making comics after receiving criticism for having one of my characters being a rip-off of Poison Ivy from the Batman comics while I was in high school. But, on a lighter note, I found myself enjoying writing and making art again thanks to me taking writing and art classes in Rowan College at Burlington County. Then, in 2017, I graduated with a liberal arts degree and I transferred to Stockton University where I became an art major with a writing minor. I got three of my characters copy protected and met professional comic creators at Comic Con in Tampa Bay, Florida. They reminded me that one of my characters is not a Poison Ivy rip-off because it was not an exact copy and I was taught to please myself instead of pleasing others.
