Hello there, I am John Wiesemann! I really like visual communications and I’ve spent the past five years of my life trying to perfect my craft. Over the years my style has developed to be very cartoony with rough outlines instead of looking polished and computerized which I feel helps me stand out. When working on assignments, I always try to give it my own special unique look so it feels a lot more personal. I’ve made book illustrations, posters, logos and character designs and I’m very excited to show them to everybody. With my exhibition, I want to show off not only the work I’ve done but also give a bit of my personality to everyone so they could get a feel of the kind of person I am through my art. For instance, I draw the characters I use in the illustrations I’ve made by pencil and color them in the computer so there’s a bit of that old school feel to my drawings even if they are edited using computers. This method suits my attitude of staying true to the basics of creating art but appreciating the new tools offered through technology and having the two methods working together. Because I have the talent and passion of both traditional and digital art and I try to blend them together whenever I can. And I’ll jump at the opportunity to be able to do more in the future!
