Hi, I’m Shegufta Sarah, and I’m graduating with a BFA in Visual Arts with a concentration in
Studio Arts. I was born in Bangladesh and moved to the United States when I was young.
Adjusting to a new place was challenging, but I’ve always held on to my roots and the culture I
came from. Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved painting, drawing, and anything creative. Art has
always been my way of expressing myself, and I’m grateful that my family has always supported
my passion.My culture is a big part of my art. I love using bright colors, patterns, and storytelling
in my work. I mix traditional influences with my own experiences to create something that feels
personal and meaningful.
For me, art is more than just making something beautiful. It helps me express myself and stay
connected to who I am. As I continue my journey, I want to keep creating work that is colorful,
personal, and full of meaning.
