Hi! My name is Sheri Goodrich and I’m a Visual Arts Major with a concentration in Visual Communications at Stockton University. I’ve been here for four years and am on track to graduate in May this coming spring. The road that led me into picking this field of study started with scribbly pen drawings but later transformed into full blown artworks and designs. I never took a computer class before college so going into this major I was fairly blind to the world that graphic design had to offer. It was a rocky start for most of it (I cannot lie) but I had eventually found my groove. I have specifically found interest in layout designs and typography work so a lot of what I do favors those specialties.
With this journey came many challenges, Google searches, and late nights but it has fueled my growth and allowed me to acquire new skills. Every semester I have gained insight into something new and fascinating. Intertwined with my computer classes were the fine arts. Being able to have this balance of digital and physical broadened my ideas as well as the techniques I had on my mental toolbelt. Having an understanding of both of these was crucial to my development and my work. I have so much more I have yet to learn but I am happy in knowing that I have made it this far.
The Exhibition will display some of my more recent works as well as some older, reworked designs and projects. I can’t wait to progress from this point forward and continue to learn more and more about the field and all of its quirks. My appreciation goes out to all of my patient and knowledgeable Professors that have guided me to where I am today.
