Yesterday we were fortunate enough to host @souths Yesterday we were fortunate enough to host @southstreetartmart @tapedofftv and @jaymcquirns at a student centric event at the @stkartgallery , as part of the Shortest, Fastest, Loudest exhibition!
.
The event featured speaking engagements, demos, and workshops based around the art of making both stencils and zines. This fully interactive event had students both seeing masters at their craft in action, and making original art based on the techniques they saw demonstrated. We had a pretty full house, and turned out some incredible work! Thanks so much to all who came out for the event, and we can’t wait to see you all (and more) again at the next event in March! (Mar 7th - Artist Panel & guest speakers).
.
Stay tuned here and @stkartgallery for more info on these and other upcoming events, visual arts happenings and show announcements!

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Chung-Fan Chang’s work employs cultural influence, displacement and spirituality through investigation in painting, works on paper, video, and wall installation. Through examining Eastern aesthetics, Chang’s work reflects her personal history, and identifies the visual metaphor of color and its significance in society. Chung-Fan Chang holds a BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts, and an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Chang lives and works between Taipei and Greater Philadelphia. Chang received the Individual Artist Fellowship Award from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (2022); Visual Arts Fellow of the Mississippi Arts Commission, Jackson, MS (2013-14); The Forward Arts Foundation Emerging Artist Award, Atlanta, GA (2011). Her Kite series of work has been exhibited in galleries and museums nationally and internationally. She explains, Kite refers to the vivid irregular geometry color fields in the abstract compositions that imply as intruders to the surroundings. Fluorescent artificial colors confronting viewer’s perception and how that restless sensation as a metaphor of continuous conflict and discomfort cultural interaction in social society. The work draws inspirations from life experience, formal Chinese ink landscape and identifies the visual simile of color and its significance in culture in the East and the West.”
