HELLO, I’M DANNY
ABOUT ME
Art has always been a part of my life. What motivated me to study art, though, were the video games I played as a kid—especially Halo. The game was unlike anything I’d ever seen, with its complex landscapes, detailed character design, and how everything felt futuristic yet realistic. Between the incredible visuals, the music, and the actors who brought those characters to life, it was my first real introduction to visual storytelling. That experience was the spark that set me on my path to becoming an artist.
My work has evolved since then as I’ve been introduced to different mediums, and my sources of inspiration have grown, too. I’ve been lucky to grow up on a barrier island, surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, estuaries, and beach. My hobbies of surfing and fishing keep me connected to nature in a deeply personal way.
But it’s not just nature that drives my creativity —it’s also the people here. Our island community is small and tight-knit; everyone knows everyone, and this sense of belonging grounds me. That sense of community motivates me to want to contribute, and it’s at the heart of why I want to build a life here doing what I love. The people and their stories bring heart and authenticity to what I create.
Choosing to study visual arts felt like a natural next step. It’s about more than just improving my skills—it’s about exploring new ideas and sharing my perspective with others. I want my work to inspire people to see the beauty in both the epic and the every day, just like I did when I first picked up that controller and got lost in a new world.
