Hi, my name is Kayla Taylor and I am graduating with a B.F.A. major with a concentration on graphic design. Although I have been creative since a young age-through a foundation in painting and drawing- I discovered my love for graphic design in my senior year of high school when I took a design class and had my first experiences with Adobe programs. Growing up, I didn’t know that being an artist could be a career. As I got older, I found that graphic design could be the best balance for me between creativity and a more structured career.
I began my college journey at Ocean County College, where I received my A.S in Graphic Arts and Design. Then I transferred to Stockton in hopes of learning more and becoming more experienced in the field. During my education at Stockton, I have learned a lot about the fundamentals of art, visual balance,interest, and the art of image and typography. I have become proficient in the Adobe Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, WordPress, and dabbled in personal illustrations on Procreate and Affinity Designer.
My exhibition this semester features a variety of my favorite work within a cozy and welcoming space. Poster advertisements, typography experimentation, and branding are a big focus area in my works. After graduation, I hope to continue my passion for graphic design and make it my full-time career. I would like to thank all of my professors, family, and friends for supporting me during my education and personal growth journey.
